3. What triggers the Google Panda Algorithm?

  • Thin content –  The content which is weak and the content is irrelevant to the user’s query and have substantive text and resources .for example- a set of pages describing a variety of health conditions with only a few sentences present on each page. Then the Google panda algorithm triggers.
  •  Duplicate content –When someone copies content from any other site and paste it as it is in his website without doing any change in it.When the user reuses that same content than the panda algorithm triggers .For example a company has written its own content organically and somebody other company had stolen their content and paste it as it is in their website. then the panda algorithm triggers. So don’t use duplicate content in your website make it organically.
  • Low-quality content – Pages which have very low content that users cannot even read and provide little information according to user’s query, then the panda algorithm triggers.
  • Lack of authority/trustworthiness – The content which is not provided from or which is not from trustworthy sources and which not defines about the content, the user thinks that the content may harm to him by stealing his personal information like credit card OTP etc. Then the panda algorithm triggers.
  • Low-quality user-generated content (UGC) –   The blog or websites which have low quality content and that have many spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and have lack of information according to users query, then the panda algorithm triggers.
  • High ad-to-content ratio – Pages which have mostly paid content or have paid advertising which irritates the users ,then the panda algorithm triggers.
  • Article spinning- when someone copies content from any site and use other website for rewriting it , we call it as article spinning. And article spinning also lowers the content quality. In this way  Google panda algorithm triggers.

The update will lower the ranking of low quality site, which have copied content from other sites .

And At the same time, it will provide better rankings to higher-quality websites—sites with original content which have no grammatical errors and have no spelling mistakes and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.

8. Ranking factors of a webpage by Google Panda Algorithm

The Google Panda patent (patent 8,682,892),  was filed on September 28, 2012, and was  granted on March 25, 2014. The patent states that Google Panda creates a ratio with a site’s inbound links and reference queries, search queries for the site’s brand. The ratio is then used in creating sitewide modification factor.

The sitewide modification factor is using for creating a modification factor for a page based upon a search query. If the page fails to meet a certain threshold, the modification factor is applied and, therefore, the page would rank lower in the search engine results page.

Google Panda affected the ranking of an entire site or a specific section rather than just the individual pages on a site.

11. What is the benefit of Google Panda?

Another Major benefit of Google Panda is that, it filtering out all sorts of unwanted, unnecessary and irrelevant content from all over internet. The internet visitor generally looks accurate page information rather than bulk of links that provides the information.

12. The rise of Google Panda

Google Panda is updating and it is mading headlines not just in the world of SEO but also in the world of internet also , going to the extent of forcing million dollar websites out of the business overnight or to the brink of bankruptcy, and literally being forced to rethink their practices and business models.

In their own words, Google wanted to restore the rightful places of high quality websites and get rid of what they call ‘thin’ websites that were taking advantage of clever SEO techniques and loopholes in the algorithms; that contained sub-standard content, were full of intrusive and irrelevant advertising, had ugly user-interfaces and did not bring any real value to the internet.

Some excellent and telling examples of the kind of websites that Google was looking to target when it rolled out the first Panda update are www.hubpages.com amongst a dozen or so other examples.

CONCLUSION

Google Panda is therefore a rather severe algorithm, which can penalize an entire site. However, the sites privileging quality and unique content have little fears to have. It can even become a real ally in certain sectors that lack relevant information.

To please the Panda, all you have to do is think about new content and put the still all-too-present method of “writing for the sake of writing” to rest for good. Google Panda algorithm is therefore all about putting relevant content in your website and making it user friendly.
